Moved into this cute but old house last spring, and it was pretty clear the electrical system hadn't been touched since the '70s. I was pretty nervous about the whole thing because I've heard horror stories about rewiring jobs. Anyway, I called this local electrical service because my neighbor said they did a good job on their place.
Peter's team came over, and first off, they were super respectful. Wore booties over their shoes and all that. They did a walkthrough and then sat down with me to explain what needed to be done, how long it would take, and what it would cost. I'm not gonna lie, I was bracing for a massive number, but it was actually reasonable. Plus, they broke down the quote so I could see exactly where my money was going.
They started work the next week, and the whole process was way less disruptive than I expected. They managed to keep the power on in most of the house most of the time, so we weren't living by candlelight or anything. They found some really old, kinda dangerous wiring in the walls and replaced all that. Also upgraded the panel so we could actually use the microwave and the toaster at the same time without blowing a fuse.
What really got me was how they handled the little stuff. Like, they noticed a few outlets were loose and fixed those up, at no charge. And after they finished the job, they cleaned everything up. Like, they even vacuumed.
Now, everything works like a charm. No more flickering lights or worrying if turning on the AC is gonna start a fire in the walls.
