Tom and Rosemarie Todaro started the Anthony Todaro Foundation in 2007 in memory of their son Anthony who passed away from a Cancer-related illness at the age of 23.

This year they will be holding their 9th Annual Anthony Todaro Foundation Softball Game and Barbecue on Sunday May 1st, 2016 from 10am – 3pm at Firemen’s Field in Deer Park.

The Todaros are fulfilling the wishes of their son, who expressed a desire to donate to the Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop Hospital.

Their events contribute to the Cancer Center, to their patients directly, in scholarships, and through sponsoring special events.

“The community has been so great and responsive to our foundation. We have friends and family who are always involved, and the business community is really great. We have food donated by Miller’s Ale House, Texas Road House, Greek Krave, and more. Breakfast will be provided by Panera Bread. [We have] over a hundred baskets that we’re gonna be raffling off”, Rosemarie explained.

This year there’s an even bigger draw because the Todaros have gotten two of the newest business organizations in our area to compete. The Deer Park Chamber of Commerce will be going up against the North Babylon Chamber of Commerce. Both organizations are in their first year so this a chance to prove themselves against each other.

Maroon vs Blue! Who will win? The Todaros are members of both Chambers so they’re not taking sides!
