DESCRIPTION:A Free\, In-Person Support Group open to youths of enrolled AGAPE families ages 5 to 17.All parents are welcome to join the corresponding Long Island Caregiver Connection LIVE! held at the same time and location. \nWHEN: Scheduled to meet on the fourth Thursday of every month from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PMWHERE: In person at the Coalition’s LI Office\, 21 Greene Avenue\, Amityville 11701 \nJoin the Long Island AGAPE team for a fun filled night of connection created specifically for youths\, aged 5 to 17 and under\, who: \nare adoptedhave been in foster careare in kinship care\,are in custody with anyone other than a biological parentare in a guardianship arrangement \nMany children joining families today have had a pretty rough start in life and have considerable healing to do. Children adopted by relatives or kin may have divided loyalties and difficulty sorting out family dynamics. Children who have been in the foster care system often do not understand the transition from foster care to adoption. Even those who joined their adoptive family shortly after birth may experience feelings of confusion\, ambivalence\, or abandonment.
