Islip Town Code § 37-22 is a joke. “No person can bring a dog or other animal into a town park, marina, pool, or other similar area, unless specific permission is granted by the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs,”. Many families have dogs but the streets in the neighborhood don’t have sidewalks. Cars speed by like this area is a drag strip. The least you could do is provide safe areas for people with children AND pets. I’ll stick to Gardner Park in Bay Shore. It’s a nicer park anyway.

Been going to Casamento since I was a kid. There is a town pool, tennis courts, a handball court, and large open fields for soccer, football etc. and a porter potty which was surprisingly clean. Dog friendly and although there aren't any picnic tables, you can always bring a blanket, or chairs and have a nice lunch and sit under the trees. If you like simple pleasures, this park is a hidden gem

Nice place to go cool off if you don't have a pool of your own. Not too crowded. I brought my grandchildren to the kiddie pool side. I used to go here about 10 years ago by myself because it was kind of a hidden gem with lounge chairs provided. The only con was that the price went up substantially!

I didn't even know that this park had pickleball courts. The area was clean and nicely marked out. We enjoyed our secession.

The outdoor pool and the park itself are clean.. Little league baseball plays ball in the Spring and Summer. The park has lights too. The tennis courts are without weeds and looks well kept up. The hand ball courts which are adjacent to the tennis courts are usually fairly clean; sometimes you will find plastic bottles etc. Pls note the new playground in the front of the park. Overall, a nice park for a family outing. In the Summer months,. Live music is organized through town of Islip and there are food trucks situated nearby
