Had a great time with kids and grandpa when we went this past Sunday. They had flights of WW2 planes taking off and landing as well as a Cold War era jet. Kids did the simulator flight and loved it. The planes you could go into and sit in the pilot chairs and turrets are always a favorite. There are always a ton of volunteers walking about happy to give tours and explain facts and stories, both personal and historical. This place is a real gem and you should check it out!

Fantastic museum with a ton of history and guides who know the history inside and out. Definitely worth the visit. Also went on a flight of the North American AT-6/SNJ “Texan”, which was a fantastic experience, end to end. The pilot even indulged all my questions on the mechanics, operation, and history of the plane. My only issue was with the scheduling of the flight - I needed to make two trips to the museum as my original scheduled time became unavailable and no one contacted me. However, the folks at the museum were very apologetic and ultimately made good on it all.

Took my family to view the planes and learn some history, and we had a great time. Kid friendly and plenty of planes to explore, history to read up on. If you have a Suffolk County library card take a look at the museum passes.

Great museum, its a must go. This is what museum should be like. Real life experience and right at the airport. No fancy technology other than the historical technology of the exhibits themselves. And staff is very nice as well. Highly recommended to visit.

Fantastic museum! Docent Ron provided a lovely tour. We watched an old Navy plane take off. Sitting in the old plans was a treat
