Introduction to the Local Events Update
Good afternoon, Babylonians! This is your local events update for Tuesday, September 10, 2019. My name is Ryan Anil Williams from ILoveBabylon.com, and I’m here to share some exciting events happening around the town of Babylon today. I’ve had a busy morning taking care of business in Dobbs Ferry upstate, but I’m back on Long Island and ready to share some great news with you.
As always, I’m committed to bringing you a video update about what’s going on around town every day, and today is no exception. As Seinfeld would say, “Don’t break the chain!” So, without further ado, let’s dive into the events happening in Babylon today.
Latin Night with Sangria Specials at Catch at Venetian Shores
First up, we have an easy Tuesday in Babylon, mainly with music or music-inspired events. If you’re a fan of Latin music and dance, you won’t want to miss Latin Night with sangria specials at Catch at Venetian Shores. The event starts at 6:00 p.m., and it’s a fantastic opportunity to enjoy some lively Latin tunes while sipping on refreshing sangria. Bring your dancing shoes and get ready to move to the rhythm!
Live Music with Southbound at the Salt Shack at Cedar Beach
For those who prefer a more laid-back musical experience, head over to the Salt Shack at Cedar Beach at 7:00 p.m. for live music with Southbound. This talented band will be performing a selection of their best hits, and it’s the perfect setting to unwind and enjoy some great tunes by the beach. Whether you’re a fan of Southbound or just looking for a relaxing evening, this event is sure to please.
Clash of the Queens: Drag Competition at Revolution Bar and Music Hall
If you’re in the mood for something a little different, Revolution Bar and Music Hall in Amityville is hosting a drag competition called “Clash of the Queens.” The event promises to be a fabulous and entertaining evening, with participants getting all dressed to the nines and performing music on stage. The winners will receive cash prizes, and the audience can look forward to an unforgettable show. Revolution Music Bar and Music Hall is located at 140 Merrick Road in Amityville, and the competition is sure to be fierce!
Goo Goo Dolls In-Store Performance and Autograph Signing at Looney Tunes Music
Now, for all you Goo Goo Dolls fans out there, remember their hit song “Iris”? Well, here’s some exciting news: at 7:00 p.m. in West Babylon, Looney Tunes Music will be hosting the Goo Goo Dolls for an in-store performance and autograph signing! The band is promoting their new album called “Miracle Pill,” and your cost of entry is simply buying their new CD.
Most of the tickets are already gone, so don’t miss this rare opportunity to see the Goo Goo Dolls in person and get your CD signed. Looney Tunes Music is located at 31 Brookvale Avenue in West Babylon, right across from the Panera Bread section.
Looney Tunes Music: A Unique Music Experience in Babylon
Looney Tunes Music is one of the few stores where you can actually go and buy CDs anymore. They
work hard to keep the experience of discovering music alive right here in our town. Even if you don’t come to one of their many in-store events, you should check out the experience of the store itself. They still have CDs, vinyl records, and signed guitars for sale.
As I walked through the store, I was amazed by the music collector’s edition items and the listening station where you can actually listen to vinyl records. There’s a headset as well as actual turntables, and tons of beautiful album covers on display. It’s a great store and an asset to Babylon. I don’t know where else you can go and get this kind of experience anymore on Long Island or in general.
Looney Tunes Music is located in West Babylon, and this is the stage where the Goo Goo Dolls will be performing later today. I’m looking forward to hearing the music, even though I might not be here in person, but I’ll definitely get the CD later. The store is filled with lots of merch, and it’s a great place to explore and discover new music.
