Belmont Lake State Park put on such a fun and family friendly Halloween celebration. The park looked beautiful with the fall colors and all the festive decorations. The pumpkin float was the highlight of the night, watching the glowing jack-o’-lanterns drift across the lake was absolutely magical. It felt peaceful and festive all at once. There were kids in costumes, good music, and a great community vibe. The staff did a wonderful job organizing everything and keeping it safe and enjoyable for everyone. I’ll definitely be coming back next year.

Beautiful park. Lots of people there walking, jogging, biking. Great place to walk your dog. You only have to pay for parking during the summer season. Otherwise it is free parking/entry.

What a beautiful day to take a walk in the park. Mixed terrain and scenery. From wooded areas to wide open lake views. Ok there were cannons from a British warship which justifies extra points. Plenty of parking, clearly marked trails, and scenic views. No fee until April 1st. Located right off the southern state parkway.

Nice place to cruise around with your bicycle. Plenty of paths, mostly easy level rides, no major inclines. Some go around Bellmont Lake. Then part of the path goes all the way up to Argyle Park on Merrick Road. On the way you pass Southards pond, and Southards pond park, another nice lake.

Spent the afternoon at Belmont Lake State Park with my family and had a really lovely time. It’s such a beautiful spot with well-maintained walking trails that are perfect for all ages. We especially appreciated the many shaded areas, it made a big difference on a hot day. The lake itself is gorgeous, and they offer small pedal boats you can rent, which was a fun and peaceful way to enjoy the water.
There’s a surprising amount of wildlife (ducks, etc). We saw plenty of families there, some hosting gatherings at the many picnic spots and open spaces, and the playground is great for kids. The area I visited was big, clean, and well-equipped. There were also many large fields that are perfect for playing sports. Additionally, if ice cream trucks are something you are interested in, there was one stationed by the playground when I arrived.
The only downside was the bathroom, which was honestly in rough shape. The floor was slippery and it didn’t seem like it had been cleaned in a while, which was a bit disappointing for such a beautiful park.
That said, Belmont Lake is still a gem. Whether you’re walking, boating, or just relaxing under the trees, it’s a great place to spend time outdoors with family. I definitely recommend visiting!
