Bitterman’s BBQ is a hidden gem! Joe, the owner, was incredibly welcoming and clearly passionate about what he does. The food was absolutely delicious – you can tell they take their time to perfect the flavors. Everything from the tender brisket to the perfectly smoked ribs was spot on. The sides were just as amazing, especially the mac and cheese. If you’re looking for authentic BBQ with top-notch service, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

With nearly 5 stars and over a thousand reviews, Bittermans hardly needs another 5 star review but after my experience I couldn’t resist giving them another one.
Firstly, the owner is a man who takes so much pride in his craft. He’s excited to show off his cooking and has a vibrant personality. This definitely shows in the food. Everything we got was extremely tasty and very tender. Not to mention, the portions were also extremely generous, a lot of bang for our buck.
This is definitely a 5 star establishment. If you’re in the area, you gotta give this place a try!!

Everything you've heard is true. This place is fantastic! The service was friendly and fast. The portions were generous and I feel like I kept getting thrown in freebies at every opportunity. I got the pulled pork, garlic mashed potatoes, chili mac and cheese and coleslaw. The food was stellar, the sauce was perfect and I really liked the Bitterman's Berry-Lime Blast soda (I'll have to try root beer next time)
I've got a full belly and enough leftovers for lunch tomorrow too!

Joe is a true pit master! Eating here feels like a trip back to Texas—no travel required. Definitely a must-try before the line out the door gets too long. The best BBQ around- Low & slow!

I found this BBQ spot while running errands in Long Island, and I am so glad I did! I hadn’t had good BBQ in years and this place brought me right back to that experience. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm and welcoming. The owner was not only hilarious but also incredibly kind and his energy was contagious!
As someone who’s pretty shy, I really appreciated how he made me feel excited about the food. He even called me over to watch him prepare the plates, explaining everything in detail, and let me tell youuuu the portions were super generous. The mac and cheese was creamy and perfectly cheesy, the baked beans were delicious! The smoked chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender. Absolutely phenomenal! Hands down, the best BBQ I’ve had in NYC. I honestly thought I’d have to fly back to the west coast to get a similar authentic BBQ experience, but this little gem is just an hour away. I’ll definitely be back!
