I rarely write negative reviews, but this experience deserves one.
First, the pricing is outrageous. $25 for a basic spinach salad is excessive even by NYC standards. Unfortunately, the quality didn’t justify it. The eggplant parmigiana was extremely bready — overwhelmingly so — and lacked flavor. It was heavy, dry, and simply not good.
What really crossed the line, though, was the billing.
They added a 3.99% “credit card fee” at checkout. Under New York’s February 2024 law, businesses cannot add a surcharge on top of the posted menu price for credit card payments. The listed price must reflect the credit card price, or they can offer a cash discount instead. Adding a separate fee at the register is not compliant.
To make matters worse, they also applied that credit card fee to the tip amount — which is even more troubling.
When I raised the issue, the owner responded by saying they “don’t have to take credit cards at all.” That completely misses the point. The issue isn’t whether you accept cards — it’s whether you follow pricing disclosure laws and charge customers properly.
Between the inflated prices, disappointing food, and questionable billing practices, I won’t be returning.
Proceed with caution.

Went for our Anniv dinner. First time here. The wait staff was outstanding and the food was plentiful. I had the Veal special with peppers and onions. The veal could be cut with my fork. Wife had stuffed shrimp which she said were excellent. Pistachio ice cream for dessert. We will return.

The cocunut shrimp served with an orange ginger dipping sauce. Nicely cooked with the perfect crisp. However, the soup of the day spinach, egg, and chicken broth was too salty. The atmosphere was great and the Italian music was very nice. They serve a big portion of salad. I loved the warm, crunchy, and sliced bread with butter. Good service, nice big windows that open outwards, a family owned business with over 30 years on the same location.

The food was not what I was hoping for. I heard from friends it was amazing. It was good. There is nothing on the website that says gratitude in cash only. That was very upsetting. The one old AC or ventilator was in need of cleaning and so was the ceiling next to it. Unfortunately I don't think will be going back, which I was really hoping for. Maybe because it was Valentine's day, the food was not as good as I heard it was.
