I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to J. Slinger-Hasgill Funeral Home for the way they handled my grandfather, Mr. Herbert Lee Payne’s, homegoing services this past Friday. During such an incredibly difficult time for our family, their professionalism and care made all the difference.
They treated my grandfather’s memory with dignity and gave us the support we needed throughout the entire process. In moments of grief, it’s important to have people who genuinely care, not about the cost, but about honoring your loved one and standing by your family.
While I pray that none of you need these services anytime soon, I highly recommend J. Slinger-Hasgill Funeral Home and their director. If the time comes, know that they will provide the compassion and integrity that every family deserves when saying goodbye to a loved one.

Words cannot express our sincere appreciation for your extraordinary assistance and professional services provided in preparing the funeral for our loved one. From the beginning to the end Mr. Slinger extended Top Tier service exceeding my family’s expectations. He also coordinated with the other funeral home to make arrangements for my aunt to be transported to Alabama. Everything was executed smoothly during such a difficult time. Most importantly that my family (who’s from out of state) trusted my recommendation. Everyone agreed that she looked so beautiful and I am extremely thankful for doing business here at Joseph Slinger-Hasgill Funeral Home. Thank you for everything! Blessing to you always.

The staff was incredibly accommodating, ensuring that every detail was handled with compassion and respect for my dear cousin AbdulQawi Shareef Muhammad-Granville. They went above and beyond to make the process as smooth as possible, offering comfort and support to our family throughout. From start to finish, their attention to detail , genuine compassion far exceeded our expectations. They made an incredibly difficult time easier to bear, and their support went beyond what we could have ever imagined. We are truly grateful for everything they did to honor our loved one and support our family.

I want to thank Slinger-Hasgill Funeral Services. They aided our family with services for my mother and two sisters. Just recently, we lost my mother and sister on the same day. Joe provided services for both of them with only four days' notice and two services on the same day. The services were performed just as we had planned, with the utmost support to our family. Joe personally took the time to ensure our satisfaction, and for what he has done, we are truly grateful.

If I could give Slinger-Hasgill Funeral Services, Amityville, NY, a higher rating than “5”. I would. Mr. Slinger was professional, kind, courteous, flexible, and honorable. He accommodated my family who does not live in NY by conducting business via Zoom, and more importantly, worked with the family to produce a home-going celebration worthy of my Mother’s life. I highly recommend him to anyone who desires their final services in the NY area.
