After years of putting off replacing our aging wooden deck, we finally decided to do it when it got to the point that it was no longer safe. Without personally knowing anyone who had a deck replaced we did a google search and thankfully came across JQ Home Improvements- what an amazing find! The photos on their website and Instagram pages looked great- the workmanship top notch. Having only our gut feelings to go by, we thankfully chose them over the other vendors we interviewed. There is nothing negative to say about the crew that meticulously dismantled the old deck and carefully and professionally built our new Trex deck. They were prompt, and professional throughout the entire process which only took 1 week to complete. Everyone knows you need to have a good doctor and a good lawyer, but if you own a home you also need to know a great person in the construction business for all of your household projects. I’m so glad we now have James and JQ Home Improvements!

My husband and I hired JQ Home Improvement for a major renovation, including a full kitchen remodel and an update to our second floor. As per our town requirements, we needed architectural plans.
In the kitchen, James and his team used our architectural plans to completely transform the space to improve functionality and flow, to make it brighter and more open-concept. Their attention to detail was outstanding—they weren’t afraid to modify plans as we progressed, ensuring everything turned out exactly as we envisioned. It was a completely gutted and extended kitchen remodel where they did everything including new windows, sliding doors, siding, pavers, steel beams, wood floors, removed oil tank, cabinets, appliances, and tile.
On the main and second floor, the team refinished our old wood floors from dark brown to a beautiful natural oak, giving our home a fresh and modern look. They also upgraded all doors to solid wood, expanded our closet space, and completed electrical updates.
The craftsmanship and professionalism of JQ Home Improvement were top-notch. James communicated clearly throughout the project and delivered high-quality work with an eye for detail. At some points, when we saw something we didn’t care for, James already had it noted and promised to fix it to our liking. Along with his professionalism he is also a kind and optimistic person. He’s easy to talk to and someone you enjoy being around. Additionally, he has a wonderful rapport with his team and is well respected.
We couldn’t be happier with the results and highly recommend James and his crew of experts for any home renovation project! We have shared with James that should he need references in the future, that he can always count on us.
