Compassionate, Professional, and Truly Caring.
Planning a funeral is something you hope you never have to do, but when the time came, Lindenhurst Funeral Home was there for us in every way. They were kind, down-to-earth, and made the whole process feel a lot less overwhelming. You could tell they really cared—not just about the details, but about us and our loved one. Everything was handled smoothly, and the service felt meaningful and personal. I honestly can’t thank them enough.

Lindenhurst Funeral Home handled my Dad's funeral. They did an outstanding job! Dad was 95 and had a long "decorated" life with service in the Navy, as well as SCPD...Eileen, John and Vinny took care of EVERYTHING! They contacted the Navy and had a beautiful service graveside, they contacted the Suffolk County Police Department, (knowing my dad was originally a motorcycle cop they managed to get motorcycle police to escort the procession past his house and through town). They were so accommodating and thought of things my family and I didn't! The funeral was more than we could've asked for, everything went off perfectly, thanks to the constant availability and attention from the entire staff. They even helped us when we came back a day later to pick up our personal items and flowers. They really made a difficult process, easy and they did an amazing job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

It has taken me some time to write this review, as I have been dealing with grief from our recent loss. In the past, we had heard and seen great things about Lindenhurst Funeral Home. However, our recent experience was subpar.
Coordinating the services was easy, and we did feel compassion from the staff. The issues began with the actual service itself. There was another service taking place at the same time as ours, which left us with only three usable easels for displaying photos. We had more than three poster boards and were forced to use broken easels that eventually collapsed during the ceremony. If multiple services are being held, there should be enough functioning easels for all families to use. I sincerely hope the team has learned from this experience and will ensure grieving families are provided with sufficient and usable equipment in the future.
The biggest issue, however, was with the slideshow. We had created a beautiful tribute on a flash drive, but on the first day of services, the staff couldn’t get the TV to work, leaving us without the slideshow we had worked so hard on. This was particularly disappointing, especially since we had been assured beforehand that it would be ready for the service. While the staff did manage to resolve the issue the following day, it was frustrating and disheartening that it didn't work during both services as promised.
In short, while the planning process went smoothly, the actual service itself fell short of expectations, which was especially hard to deal with during such a difficult time. I write this review in the hope that the staff will learn from our experience and improve so future families don’t face the same issues we did.
