I hired this firm for an eviction matter and paid $2,450 upfront. After deciding to terminate the case, I asked that they deduct the cost of whatever work had actually been performed and refund the remainder. Instead, they refused to refund anything, and told me they would “do me a favor” and waive a $500 process server/predicate notice fee. At no point did I receive an itemized breakdown or supporting documentation for the charges.
WHAT HAPPENED AFTER MY HONEST REVIEW:
After I posted an honest review describing my experience, the firm sent me a threatening email implying legal action (a “potential defamation lawsuit” and “collection action”) unless I removed or changed my review. I have included a screenshot of that email below so others can see exactly what was said in their own words.
THE SUDDEN $500 INVOICE:
Shortly after their threat, I received a new invoice for $500 for the same “predicate notice” service they had previously stated would be waived. I disputed the invoice in writing and requested documentation, dates, and proof of work performed.
FINAL UPDATE:
Once I formally disputed the invoice and publicly posted the screenshot of their email, the firm immediately backed down. They withdrew the invoice and stated that I “should no longer hear from them.” I am leaving my review exactly as-is so future clients can make an informed decision based on my experience.
Everything in this review is based on my personal experience and supported by the communications I received.
