Nazar is hands down one of my favorite Turkish spots in NY! It’s both a restaurant and grocery store in one location, which is super convenient. My go-to is the mix grill—it’s packed with all their delicious meats like lamb chop, Adana kebab, and kofte. And the white rice? I could eat that by itself—it’s that good!
They offer complimentary tea, which is perfect for winter days. After dining, you pay at the grocery cashier, which makes the whole experience unique. Their lamacun is the best I’ve had in NY, freshly baked and worth the 7-10 minute wait. I still need to try their popular mix appetizers, but the specials like lentil soup and cheesy creamy chicken are top-notch. The staff are always friendly and make you feel welcome.
Plenty of seating, amazing food, and great service—definitely recommend!

This restaurant is amazing. The Turkish foods are authentic and delicious. At 1st I wasn't too sure what to get, but the guy behind the counter gave me suggestions and also gave me some samples to try. He said the gyros are very popular, but when I was there, they were already sold out. I got the mix pie, the lahmacun, and the adana kebab, and they were so tasty. The breads are fresh and very crispy and there's also fresh Turkish teas which are on the house. And to top it off, there's a supermarket next door which has a variety of Turkish items including fresh baklava. Fyi, the meats are all Hallal

Nazar! Ooooooh! I mean come on...you don't already know this place? You must try the real gyro. The Fresh gyro lamb meat is amazing! Did I mention the lentil soup? Everything here is traditional for the most part. Amazing grocery store also which really helps understand the cuisine. This place is a gem and a must have to anyone looking for explore long island. Great dine in experience and same quality to-go! This place has a reputation and has stood the test of time.

Excellent food and roomy restaurant. Other side of the establishment has a good mix of groceries as well as fresh Halal meat. Restaurant has half portions available and exotic drink selections from the fridge. Pictured is the mixed grillas well as a chicken adnan kebab. On the side is an eggplant mix with tomato sauce, peppers and onion. The bread, which comes with the entrees is vastly improved from say 5 years ago. Crisp outside, soft inside with poppy seeds on top. Free hot tea in the back of the restaurant.
