I really wanted to like P & B, because they knew right away that my roofer had damaged the A/C copper pipe with a nail, causing refrigerant to leak, after four other technicians from another company were stumped. (The roofer also dropped nails into the unit, shorting something out.) The roofer had the refrigerant replaced, and I had the electrical issue repaired, but I called P & B back to check the function of the unit, as it didn't seem to be cooling properly even after those repairs, and my indoor humidity was suddenly very high (81%), also making me think there was an issue because it had never been anywhere near that.
When P & B came the other day, the technician said the unit was again a little low on refrigerant and added some to correct it. He was very friendly - no issues there. However, he refused to test the Delta of the system even though I asked, he said a pressure test was unnecessary, and he did not know about the indoor humidity. I also complained that there was a substantial difference between upstairs and downstairs temperatures, but he was not concerned and wouldn't take any measurements of those indoor issues. He did say he measured something at the outside unit that improved when he added refrigerant, however.
Fast forward a short time to today. The problem isn't completely fixed. Temperatures are, downstairs, 9 degrees below outside. Upstairs I achieve better, 15 degrees, but below expectations. And humidity is 78% after running a dehumidifier for 4 hours.
To be clear, P and B did not create these issue. The unit was working perfectly before my roofer damaged it - I was getting an 18 degree delta and 50% humidity even upstairs. But I expected better service from P and B than I received, which was really only average. In my opinion, they should come back to do a more thorough evaluation without charging a service fee.

As soon as the technician arrived at my house for a repair call, I was not impressed when he started to complain about the attic's access entry, which was located in the hallway. I offered him my ladder to use because he was so insistent about it, but he turned it down. Rather, he went outside to inspect the other component of the unit, and after ten minutes and a $200 bill, I was informed that they do not fix leaks. A new system is required. My
unit is old and I may need a new one but I do not trust this company to do since their Tech's. have attic issues and $190 for ten minutes is to much for me.

I had a hvac/heat pump system installed in 2020. Since then I've had roughly 7-10 service visits. After each visit, I get a few months worth of a properly functioning system. The only conclusion I can draw from a 5 year old system having this many issues is that it was poorly installed and or improperly serviced. I will say the company warrantied the first several visits, but I have paid over $1000 in service visits. That should not be the case on a 5 year old system. It's been a huge headache.

I reached out to P & B heating and air conditioning because of their reviews, being located inside of the town of Babylon and they are listed as a Ruud certified dealer (the brand I own).
I needed my outdoor condenser to be discounted so it can be moved away from the house so a concreate patio could be poured. The women who answered the phone was very helpful and understanding. we scheduled the appointment for the discount and the price for everything was given up front. the reconnect was scheduled after construction.
The two techs that came (one for the discount and one for the reconnect) were very professional. Both came in a marked van and they were early for both appointments. I received text and calls to confirm times as well from the office and techs. Both explained to me what they needed to do and showed me the work when they where done. During reconnect the Tech replaced my filter drier as well (the old one was in bad shape).
I am glad I went with P & B Heating & Air Conditioning Corp and would use them in the future.
