Plumbing Contractors (PCALI) Brings Smiles to Sunrise Day Camp with Fourth Annual Pizza Lunch

Wheatley Heights, NY

The Plumbing Contractors Association of Long Island (PCALI) proudly sponsored a pizza lunch for campers and staff at Sunrise Day Camp in Wheatley Heights, a no-cost summer camp for children battling cancer and their siblings.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Plumbing Contractors Association of Long Island (PCALI) brought joy — and pizza — to the campers and staff of Sunrise Day Camp, a no-cost summer camp in Wheatley Heights that serves children battling cancer and their siblings.

The annual lunch was held during one of the camp’s most anticipated events of the summer: Color War, a lively tradition filled with friendly competition, laughter, and team spirit. This year, PCALI’s pizza lunch fed several hundred campers and more than 200 staff members, ensuring that everyone had the fuel to keep the festivities going.

🌞 More Than Just a Meal

Sunrise Day Camp offers a much-needed escape for children facing serious health challenges, providing a supportive and fun-filled environment at absolutely no cost to families. The camp also welcomes siblings, recognizing the importance of shared joy and bonding during difficult times. Programs include summer camp activities, year-round events, and in-hospital recreational programs — all designed to help children heal, laugh, and connect.

It’s an incredible privilege to support Sunrise Day Camp and the amazing kids who attend. Seeing their smiles and energy reminds us why we do this year after year. We’re honored to play even a small part in helping these kids just be kids,” said Jeff Connelly, President of PCALI.

🤝 A Partnership Built on Caring

PCALI’s connection to Sunrise Day Camp has been nurtured over the years thanks to long-time member Larry Levine of Par Plumbing, who helped foster the relationship. The association’s continued commitment is a testament to the impact that community partnerships can have on young lives.

We are grateful for the support that PCALI gives to Sunrise and the Levine Golf Classic. It’s because of supporters like you that Sunrise can continue providing free-of-charge summer and year-round programming to as many children with cancer and their siblings as we are this year,” said Deborah Lom of Sunrise Day Camp.
