Memorial Day 2024 Observances and Parades 🇺🇸
As Memorial Day approaches, we are reminded to honor and recognize the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. These individuals have paved the way for us to live in the greatest country in the world. Here’s a roundup of Memorial Day parades and observances across the Town of BAbylon. Please take some time out of your weekend to attend and pay your respects.
East Farmingdale 🎖️
- Start Time: 8:00 AM
- Location: East Farmingdale Fire House on Conklin Street and East Carmans Rd
- Details: Sponsored by the East Farmingdale Fire Department.
North Babylon 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Route: Garnet and Rt.231 to the American Legion Memorial
- Details: Services will be sponsored by the North Babylon Fire Department and the American Legion at Phelps Lane Park.
Deer Park 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Route: West 22nd Street and Lake Ave to the Deer Park School District Administration Building on Rt.231
- Details: A service will be held, sponsored by the VFW Post 5348 and the Deer Park Fire Department.
Wyandanch 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Location: George Simms Plaza
- Details: Services sponsored by Wyandanch Memorial VFW Post 361.
Farmingdale 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Route: Northside Elementary School, marching south on Main Street to the Village Green
- Details: A ceremony will follow at the Village Green with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 516, VFW Auxiliary Post 516, and the American Legion.
West Babylon 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Route: Arnold Ave and Rt 109 to the American Legion Sgt. John Sardiello Post 1634
- Details: Services at the post memorial at 10 Bruce Street.
Copiague 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Route: Gateway Park at Dixon Ave and Great Neck Road, marching to Great Neck Road School
- Details: Service sponsored by the VFW Post 9482.
Amityville 🎖️
- Start Time: 10:00 AM
- Location: Amityville Village Gazebo at Park Ave and Broadway
- Details: Sponsored by the Village of Amityville, VFW Post 7223, and American Legion Post 1218.
Lindenhurst 🎖️
- Veterans Council Ceremony:
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Location: Breslau Cemetery
- Lindenhurst Fire Department Ceremony:
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Location: Fireman’s Memorial Park
- Parade:
- Start Time: 11:00 AM
- Route: Wellwood Avenue, ending at North Wellwood and East Hoffman Avenues at the Village Square Park/Gazebo
- Village Ceremony: Approximately 12:00 noon
Babylon 🎖️
- Start Time: 11:00 AM
- Route: Foster Blvd. and Deer Park Ave to the gazebo across from Argyle Park
- Details: The parade will conclude with services sponsored by the American Legion Post 94.
