Local Events Around the Town of Babylon NY This Week ~ June 8-12, 2026

Live from the Town of Babylon, New York… Rodney Got One Day Back from the Afterlife and Immediately wanted to go back

I tell ya, I get a one-day pass back to Earth and where do they send me?

Babylon.

Beautiful place. Great people. Terrific waterfronts. And gas prices so high my car asked me if we could just “see other people.”

I came back expecting peace, reflection, maybe a nice quiet bench near the bay. Instead, I find out the Knicks are in the Finals, AI is getting sued, world leaders are still trying to get wars to stop acting like group chats, and Babylon has packed the calendar with yoga, bingo, live music, wrestling, fishing, food trucks, book clubs, karaoke, paint nights, fundraisers, and a local events lineup with more stamina than I had at 38.

I tried to relax. The events calendar said, “Not this week, pal.”

Knicks Watch Party

Wednesday, June 10 | Doors Open: 8:00 PM | Game Time: 8:30 PM
First Presbyterian Church of Babylon, 79 E Main Street, Babylon, NY

The Knicks are in the NBA Finals and New York has completely lost its emotional regulation. Honestly, good. We’ve earned it. The last time the Knicks were this close to glory, half of us still thought dial-up was futuristic.

This local watch party will feature a large outdoor screen, projection on the patio, free pizza, free soda, free snacks, and Knicks gear encouraged.

Free pizza and playoff basketball? In this economy, that’s not an event. That’s a civic miracle.

Monday Featured Events

June 2026 LMS PTA Meeting

Monday, June 8 | 7:30 PM
Lindenhurst Middle School, 350 S Wellwood Ave, Lindenhurst, NY

The week begins with civic responsibility: the June LMS PTA meeting. Officers will be recognized, new officers inducted, awards presented, raffles held, and end-of-year business discussed.

Schools run on volunteers, parents, caffeine, and people willing to sit under fluorescent lights for the children.

I went to one PTA meeting once. They asked me to chair a committee. I said, “Which committee?” They said, “Leaving.”

No respect.

Ladies Aid – Picnic in the Park

Tuesday, June 9 | 12:00 PM
St. Paul’s Lutheran Church / Marjorie R. Post Community Park

Mobile Pet Adoption Event

Tuesday, June 9 | 3:00 PM–7:00 PM
PetSmart, 241 Airport Plaza Blvd, Farmingdale, NY

Dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens will be available for adoption. You walk in for paper towels, you walk out with a rescue animal who immediately has more Instagram engagement than your business page.

Restorative Yoga with Celeste

Tuesday, June 9 | 5:00 PM
107 E Main St, Babylon, NY

Gentle warmups, supported poses, breathwork, and inner peace. I tried restorative yoga once. The instructor said, “Let go of tension.” My body said, “We’re leasing it.”

Bingo Mania

Tuesday, June 9 | 7:00 PM
162 Gardiners Ave, Levittown, NY

Classic bingo. Numbers, cards, luck, tension. It’s basically Las Vegas with better parking and more orthopedic shoes.

Music Bingo Night at VERN

Tuesday, June 9 | 7:00 PM
301 Bergen Ave, West Babylon, NY

Waterfront cocktails, food, DJ Ben E, prizes, and bingo cards based on songs instead of numbers. Finally, a game where knowing the chorus to “Sweet Caroline” counts as a life skill.

Tuesday, June 9 | 7:00 PM
West Babylon High School Admin Building

The public portion starts around 7 PM and streams online. Democracy: now available in-person or with snacks on your couch.

Monthly Book Club with Jackie & Monica

Wednesday, June 10 | 11:30 AM

A casual vehicle meetup for members to talk shop and show off cars. I showed off my car once. A mechanic said, “Is this before or after the accident?” I said, “That’s factory.”

Tasty Wave at Salt Shack

Wednesday, June 10 | 7:00 PM
100 Ocean Parkway, Babylon, NY

New Wave Wednesday, no cover, free parking after 4 PM, and all ages welcome with an adult. No cover and free parking? In this economy, that’s not an event, that’s a miracle.

Magic Stamp League – Commander Party Night

Wednesday, June 10 | 7:00 PM
1883-B Deer Park Avenue, Deer Park, NY

Magic players get stamp cards, promos, booster packs, sleeves, and glory. I tried playing Magic once. My deck told me it wanted to see other players.

First Presbyterian Church of Babylon, 79 E Main Street, Babylon, NY

Outdoor screen, patio projection, free pizza, free soda, free snacks, and Knicks gear encouraged.

Park After Dark with the DLB at Prohibition

Wednesday, June 10 | 9:00 PM–Midnight
Prohibition, Massapequa Park, NY

The party continues with DLB rocking Prohibition. I tried to keep the party going once. The party asked for a restraining order.

Thursday Featured Events

Thursday is for people who think, “You know what this week needs? Pilates, painting, sustainability, beach dancing, live music, and professional wrestling.” And Babylon said, “Done.”

Big-O Acoustic at Colonial Springs Golf Club

Thursday, June 11 | 5:30 PM
Colonial Springs Golf Club, Farmingdale

Members only. I tried to get into a members-only event once. They said, “You’re barely a person.”

Freestyle at The Yard

Thursday, June 11 | 6:00 PM
The Boat Yard, West Gilgo Beach

DJ Tommy Nappi, rotating freestyle performers, and dancing by the beach every Thursday. Freestyle music is the only genre where heartbreak comes with a bassline and better hair.

Flags Opening Reception

Thursday, June 11 | 6:00 PM–8:00 PM
Babylon Historical & Preservation Society

Celebrate the Babylon Village Arts Council’s Flags exhibition. Art, history, community, and possibly someone quietly explaining symbolism to a spouse who only came for the reception.

Pilates & Paint Night with Live Life Fitness

Thursday, June 11 | 6:30 PM
The Color Palette, Lindenhurst

Thirty minutes of Pilates, one hour of sunset painting, BYOB, and snacks. Nothing says “core strength” like trying not to spill wine on your canvas.

Long Island Sierra Club: Island Harvest

Thursday, June 11 | 6:30 PM
50 Deauville Blvd, Copiague, NY

Learn about Island Harvest’s organic farm, sustainability work, and education programs. Finally, a farm story that doesn’t involve someone on the internet yelling about seed oils.

Mean Machine at Salt Shack

Thursday, June 11 | 7:00 PM
100 Ocean Parkway, Babylon, NY

Mean Machine takes over Salt Shack. With a name like that, I assume the band either plays hard or charges resort fees.

Forever Freestyle Live at The Boatyard

Thursday, June 11 | 7:00 PM
Jones Beach Island

More freestyle by the water. At this point, Thursday has enough rhythm to make your knees reconsider their retirement.

MWA 2026 Extreme Tour at AMH

Thursday, June 11 | 8:00 PM
Amityville Music Hall, 198 Broadway, Amityville, NY

Music, drinks, and Great Little People professional wrestling. All ages. Big energy. Tiny mercy.

I asked if I could wrestle. They said, “You already lost to gravity.”

Friday Featured Events

Friday has 24 unique listings after cleanup. Twenty-four. That’s not a Friday night. That’s a municipal endurance test.

You can fish at sunrise, sing karaoke by afternoon, hit happy hour, send the kids to make slime, watch wrestling, see concerts, join a fundraiser, take a booze cruise, play darts, and still somehow end up at live music at 9 PM.

I asked the calendar if it was okay. It said, “I haven’t slept since Memorial Day.”

Brooklyn Bill Memorial Fishing Trip

Friday, June 12 | 6:30 AM
Captree Boat Basin, Oak Beach

Reserve early. Boat trips fill fast. Nothing like starting Friday at 6:30 AM on the water and realizing fish have a better work-life balance than you.

50 Deauville Blvd, Copiague, NY

Sing, snack, sip coffee, and support the brave people willing to perform before dinner.

Drinks, bites, and Friday atmosphere. I went to happy hour once. My tab had a laugh track.

Rock-It! at Tiki Joe’s Captree

Friday, June 12 | 5:00 PM

Decades of pop hits from the ultimate party band. Pop hits near the water? That’s not a show, that’s a summer personality.

Levittown Food Truck Event: Dancing Through the Decades

Friday, June 12 | 5:00 PM
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Levittown

Food trucks, family fun, and music from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Dress the part. I dressed for the 80s once. My pants still haven’t apologized.

Dads Game — Game 1

Friday, June 12 | 6:00 PM
Phelps Lane

A community fundraiser game with more details to follow. Dads playing sports for a good cause: noble, dangerous, and sponsored by knee braces.

SWA Wrestling’s WRESTLE:HELL 2026

Friday, June 12 | Doors Open: 6:00 PM / Bell Time: 7:00 PM

LIHNPC Pubmoot

Friday, June 12 | 6:00 PM
16 W Hoffman Ave, Lindenhurst, NY

A chill, friendly hangout for local Heathens, Norse Pagans, and Pagans. Drinks optional, good vibes required. Thor would attend, but he’s probably stuck in traffic on Sunrise Highway.

Kids Night Out

Friday, June 12 | 6:00 PM
The Color Palette, Lindenhurst

Painting, slime, foam smash, foam dance party, pizza, and parents get 10% off for their night out. The kids get chaos. The parents get hope.

Belfast Gastropub, Lindenhurst, NY

Live music, fine food, drinks, and Friday night energy in Lindenhurst.

End of the Year Fundraiser and Celebration

Friday, June 12 | 6:00 PM

A local fundraiser and celebration. Support the community. The algorithm won’t do it. It’s too busy pretending it understands you.

Acoustic Rewind at Cebollines

Friday, June 12 | 6:30 PM
Cebollines Grill, Lindenhurst

Great food and music. Simple. Effective. Like a good sandwich or a sincere apology.

Refresh and Renew Revival

Friday, June 12 | 7:00 PM
First Baptist Church

A revival service focused on preparation, renewal, and faith. If your soul has 47 unread notifications, this might be the reset button.

Decadia at Salt Shack

Friday, June 12 | 7:00 PM
100 Ocean Parkway, Babylon, NY

Decadia takes over Salt Shack. By Friday, Salt Shack is basically the Times Square of local band calendars.

Lovesong Live at The Boatyard

Friday, June 12 | 7:00 PM
The Boatyard Waterfront Bar and Grill

Lovesong returns to The Boatyard. Waterfront, music, June air. If you mess this up, that’s on you.

The Clusters Concert at Phelps Lane Park

Friday, June 12 | 7:00 PM–8:30 PM
151 Phelps Lane, North Babylon, NY

Bring lawn chairs for The Clusters, presented in the summer concert tradition. Free outdoor music: the only inflation-proof joy left besides complaining.

StrangeMagicNY at the Argyle Theatre

Friday, June 12 | 8:00 PM
Argyle Theatre, Babylon Village

An evening of ELO classics at the Argyle. Beautiful theater, big songs, and probably someone whispering, “I forgot how many ELO songs I know.”

Any Way You Want It Live at The Warehouse

Friday, June 12 | 8:00 PM
The Warehouse, Amityville

Journey-style energy in Amityville. If you don’t sing along, check your pulse.

Emo Booze Cruise

Friday, June 12 | 8:00 PM
Captree Boat Basin, Oak Beach

Three-hour sail, emo bangers, beer, wine, soda, 21+, and a warning that the last 13 cruises sold out. Emo on a boat? Finally, a place for feelings to become maritime law.

Luck of the Draw

Friday, June 12 | 8:00 PM
West Babylon

Darts, cash prizes, 50/50, bragging rights, and a good cause. I threw a dart once. The board filed a complaint.

Voices Carry LI at RipTides

Friday, June 12 | 8:00 PM
RipTides Cocktails and Grill, Lindenhurst

80s and 90s songs, food, drinks, and a great vibe. Nostalgia with appetizers.

Dads Game — Game 2

Friday, June 12 | 8:30 PM
Phelps Lane

Second game of the night. If Game 1 was about pride, Game 2 is about Advil.

The Kevin McLeod Band at Bartini Bar

Friday, June 12 | 8:30 PM
Bartini Bar, Babylon

Original songs and cool covers from one of Long Island’s best bands. Bartini gets local music respect. Unlike me. Even the drink umbrella looked away.

That Diva Band at The Coop Farmingdale

Friday, June 12 | 9:00 PM
Farmingdale

Sing, dance, and end Friday with That Diva Band. The event says “favorite spot,” which is local code for “you’re going to stay later than planned.”

Outro and Signature

Look, the world is a little nuts.

Gas is expensive. The Knicks are making grown adults speak in prophecy. AI is in court more than some attorneys. Global news feels like somebody shook a snow globe full of anxiety.

And yet, here in and around Babylon, people are still gathering.

They’re singing. Playing. Volunteering. Reading. Dancing. Fishing. Painting. Cheering. Fundraising. Showing up for schools, pets, parks, churches, small businesses, music venues, and each other.

That’s the good stuff.

I came back for one day and found out Babylon has no shortage of things to do.

Me? I still get no respect.

But this calendar?

This calendar is working overtime.
