Local Events Around the Town of Babylon, NY this week ~ July 20–24, 2026

Well. That’s over.

Spain lifted the trophy at MetLife on Sunday, 1–0 over Argentina — and it took extra time to settle it. Ferran Torres, 106th minute, and that was the tournament. Spain’s second star. Argentina’s back-to-back bid gone. The confetti got swept up, the world went home, and Long Island woke up Monday morning with the specific emptiness of a person who has nothing scheduled at 3 p.m. for the first time in a month.

Here’s the good news: Babylon never stopped playing. While the planet was busy with one tournament, this town quietly booked seven bands on a single Friday night, a free movie under the stars, a beach-bar tiki show, a paint night with actual dogs, and a booze cruise dedicated to the music of the Warped Tour. No group stage. No bracket. No VAR review. Just a Tuesday that got rained on and a Friday that absolutely delivers.

They needed extra time to decide it out at MetLife. Around here, extra time starts now.

☀️ The Forecast — and Yes, We Have to Talk About Tuesday

Straight from the National Weather Service, no spin:

  • Monday, July 20 — Sunny, high near 79°, 0% rain. A perfect night for an outdoor movie. Genuinely flawless.
  • Tuesday, July 21 — Showers and thunderstorms likely, high 79°, 71% chance of rain during the day and 96% overnight. This one’s wet.
  • Wednesday, July 22 — Showers and thunderstorms, high 81°, 92% chance of rain. Also wet. Sorry.
  • Thursday, July 23 — Clearing out, high 79°, only a 23% chance of a passing shower.
  • Friday, July 24 — Slight chance early, then sunny, high 81°. Wide open for the big night.

So the week has a shape to it: a beautiful Monday, two soggy days in the middle, and then a Friday that opens right up. If you’re picking one night to go out, the weather has already picked it for you.

📋 In This Guide…

🗺️ The Rundown

Twenty-three events across five days, spread over Babylon Village, Copiague, Lindenhurst, Amityville, West Gilgo Beach, Captree Island, and Farmingdale. The categories break down about how you’d expect for late July: a whole lot of Live Music, a healthy showing of Arts & Crafts, a couple of Health & Wellness sessions, one Business expo, and two free Town events under the sky at Tanner Park.

The center of gravity this week is the water. Salt Shack out at Cedar Beach has a band four nights out of five. Tiki Joe’s is doing a show on Captree. There’s a cruise leaving from Captree Boat Basin. If your summer has been insufficiently salty so far, this is the week to fix that.

Gold Dust Woman — Fleetwood Mac Tribute at Tanner Park

Friday, July 24 · 7:00 PM · Tanner Park, Copiague · FREE
The Town’s Summer Concert Series brings in a Fleetwood Mac tribute for the biggest night of the week, and it costs you nothing. Bring a chair, bring a blanket, bring the whole crew. “Rhiannon” over the water as the sun goes down is a genuinely hard thing to beat, and the forecast says it’ll be clear and 81°. If you only leave the house once this week, make it this.

Free Family Movie Night — Aladdin at Tanner Park

Monday, July 20 · 8:30 PM · Tanner Park Bandshell, Copiague · FREE
A whole new world, zero dollars, and a 0% chance of rain. The Town’s summer movie series puts Aladdin up on the big screen at the bandshell, and Monday’s forecast is the best of the entire week. Get there early, spread out on the grass, and let the kids run around until the sun goes down.

The Warped Tour Band — EMO BOOZE CRUISE

Friday, July 24 · 8:00 PM · Captree Boat Basin
Yes, that is the actual name. Yes, it is a boat. Yes, they are playing the songs you screamed along to in a parking lot in 2005. Somewhere between the eyeliner and the open water this becomes the most Long Island thing on the entire calendar, and we mean that as the highest possible compliment.

🎬 Monday, July 20

The week opens on its best weather day, and Babylon spends it outside. Start the afternoon at Salt Shack Family Fun Night out at Cedar Beach, where the bounce houses and face painting run all evening and the karaoke turns grown-up at 8. Then head over to Copiague for Aladdin at the Tanner Park Bandshell — free, outdoors, and under a sky with a zero percent chance of rain. Two events, both easy, both cheap.

  • 🏖️ Salt Shack Family Fun Night — 4:00 PM · Salt Shack, 100 Ocean Pkwy · Face painting, bounce houses, balloons, kids’ karaoke and a children’s movie, then adult karaoke at 8. No cover, plus happy hour specials.
  • 🧞 Aladdin — 8:30 PM · Tanner Park Bandshell, Copiague · FREE Town family movie night under the stars.

🌧️ Tuesday, July 21

Here comes the rain — 71% during the day and a near-certain 96% overnight — so Tuesday is the day Babylon moves indoors, and conveniently almost everything already is. The BizConnect Women in Business Expo runs all morning, Summer Night Art Classes and Meditation Reset both give you somewhere dry and calm to land, and Behind The Line with Chef Eric LeVine is a proper sit-down evening. Only 12X at Salt Shack is exposed to the sky — check with the venue before you drive out.

⛈️ Wednesday, July 22

Wednesday is the wettest day on the board at a 92% chance of storms, which is an awkward forecast for a night with two waterfront shows on it. The Upside Down returns to Tiki Joe’s out on Captree and Stereomatic plays Salt Shack — both are worth the trip if the sky cooperates, and both are worth a phone call first if it doesn’t. Meanwhile the SightMD LASIK Event in Babylon Village is entirely indoors and entirely unbothered by any of this.

🎨 Thursday, July 23

The rain clears out and Babylon immediately gets loud again. Electric Dudes headline the second Music on Main at the Dark Horse in Farmingdale, Stifler’s Mom takes Salt Shack, and Babylon Sisters bring the Steely Dan catalog to The Warehouse. If loud isn’t your thing, Paint & Pups in Lindenhurst is exactly what the name promises: painting, and dogs.

Worth the drive: the Great South Bay Music Festival kicks off Thursday and runs through Sunday at Shorefront Park in Patchogue — outside the Town of Babylon, but a four-day waterfront lineup worth the twenty minutes east if you want a bigger night.

🔥 Friday, July 24 — The Real Final

Nine events. Seven of them live music. One Friday. This is the night the whole week has been building toward, and the forecast finally cooperates — sunny and 81°. The headline act is Gold Dust Woman playing Fleetwood Mac for free at Tanner Park, with The Trobaduors at the Babylon Village Gazebo and the EMO Booze Cruise pushing off from Captree. Add Decadia, Vinyl Revival, Back to the ‘Cane and Boogie Mama, and the only real problem is choosing.

See You Out There

The tournament’s done and the trophy’s on a plane to Spain. Fine. Babylon’s got a bandshell, a boat, a gazebo, a tiki bar and seven bands on Friday night, and none of it requires a ticket to a stadium in New Jersey — or a hundred and six minutes to get going.

Extra time. Let’s play.

See you around town,
