Memorial Day Week in Babylon: Your Local Game Plan
Memorial Day Week has arrived in the Town of Babylon, and this week’s mission begins with remembrance.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Due to inclement Weather many of today’s Parades have been cancelled. At the time of writing this I know for sure that the Parades for both Babylon Village and North Babylon Have been cancelled, however, many remembrances have been moved indoors. Unfortunately, I don’t have information about all of them at this time and have to ask you to reach out to Town or Village Offices
Before the music, food, beach nights, festivals, book sales, happy hours, and summer kickoff plans, we pause to honor the men and women who gave everything in service to our country. Memorial Day is not just the unofficial start of summer. It is a day of gratitude, memory, and respect.
Then, once the flags are raised, the wreaths are placed, and the community has gathered in honor, the week continues with a full local lineup across Lindenhurst, Copiague, Deer Park, Babylon, West Babylon, Farmingdale, West Gilgo Beach, Amityville, Wyandanch, and beyond.
Consider this your local field guide for the week ahead. Review the orders. Pick your route. Support local. And we’ll see you around town.

This week begins with remembrance and moves into everything local life does best: showing up, gathering together, feeding people, making music, supporting causes, giving kids something fun to do, and keeping the community connected.
So attend a Memorial Day ceremony. Thank a veteran. Remember the fallen. Then keep the local spirit moving all week long.
See you around town.
