Forty-four things to do between tonight and Sunday. Friday is 81 and sunny, Saturday is the perfect fall day, and Sunday wants to rain on the pumpkins.
Here’s the honest version of the weekend. Friday and Saturday are gifts — music on the water tonight, two farmers markets and a Touch a Truck tomorrow, and a Saturday high of 70 that feels like somebody finally turned the dial to fall.
Sunday is the one to watch. Showers are likely from about 8 in the morning, with thunderstorms on the way at night, and that lands right on top of both pumpkin festivals. We’ve put the indoor options up top in Sunday’s section, and we’ll tell you where to check before you load the car.
Weekend Weather
- Friday 9/18 — High near 81. Mostly sunny.
- Saturday 9/19 — High near 70. Mostly sunny, with an east breeze.
- Sunday 9/20 — High near 71. Rain showers likely after 8 AM; thunderstorms possible Sunday night.
If you only get one outdoor day this weekend, make it Saturday. Forecast via the National Weather Service, updated Friday morning.

Touch a Truck — Saturday, September 19, 11:00 AM–2:00 PM
Babylon Public Library and the Village of Babylon are filling the municipal parking lot across from the library with the kind of vehicles small children consider celebrities. It’s free, it’s hands-on, and it lands on the best-weather day of the weekend. If you have a kid who points at every truck on Montauk Highway, this is their Super Bowl.
