You’re never more than 20 minutes away from a splash, a soak, or a little seaside sand.

🏖️ Bay Beaches: Where the Water’s Shallow but the Vibes Are Deep

If you like it soft, slow, and salty — welcome to the bay, baby.

Tanner Park in Copiague and Venetian Shores in Lindenhurst are Babylon’s backdoor bayside beauties — exclusive, local, and ready for action if you’ve got the right credentials.

🎟️ You’ll need a 2025 Babylon Beach Permit to slide in. Permits are checked daily from 8 AM to 4 PM — no sneaking in the back without one.

🧴 These beaches are built for playdates and day dates:

• Spray parks to get the kids wet.
• Playgrounds if you’re still into monkey business.
• And food vendors to keep your mouth busy — Cantina Bay serves up heat at Tanner, while Katch satisfies cravings at Venetian Shores.

💋 Open daily June 28 – September 1, with lifeguards on duty from 10 AM to 6 PM — so you can go deep without going under.

🐾 And sorry, furry friends — no animals allowed. Just you, the sand, and maybe someone special on your towel.

The Town of Babylon keeps it hot with three oceanfront options — each with its own flavor:

• Overlook Beach – strictly residents only, no outside distractions. Just you and the waves… all summer long.
• Cedar Beach – locals and out-of-towners welcome, as long as they know how to pay for a good time.
• Gilgo Beach – where the drinks are cold, the crowd is hot, and the shoreline doesn’t quit.

💳 Town residents get in free with a 2025 Beach Permit. Non-residents? You’ll have to cough up $40 on weekends and $20 on weekdays. And bring plastic — it’s credit/debit only, sugar. No cash. No exceptions.

🔥 Each beach comes equipped with just enough to keep you comfortable:

• Overlook: Food from Overlook Beach Club, grills, Wi-Fi, playground, outdoor showers, and peace from the tourist crowd.
• Cedar: Basketball, handball, volleyball, and some serious eats from Salt Shack Seaside Grill.
• Gilgo: Your go-to for surf, snacks at Gilgo Beach Inn, and serious people-watching. Bring your A-game.

📅 Pre-Season: Weekends & holidays from May 24 – June 22, 8 AM – 4 PM (lifeguards 10 AM – 6 PM).

📅 Main Season: Daily from June 28 – September 1. Lifeguards on the clock 9 AM – 7 PM on weekends, and 10 AM – 6 PM on weekdays. Safety first — but make it sexy.

🚫 Pro tip: That Town permit won’t get you into the New York State beaches like Robert Moses, Jones, or Heckscher. That’s a whole other kind of relationship.

🐚 But if you want to sneak away to nearby Robert Moses State Park, it’s worth the trip. More than just sand — it’s got golf, lighthouse walks, and enough open water to drown your stress. Just don’t bring your dog — they’re not invited to this party.

There are five public pools, each one built for steamy afternoons and stolen glances:

• Anthony Sanchez Pool – West Babylon
• Fabio Buttitta Pool – Deer Park
• North Amityville Pool
• North Lindenhurst Pool

👀 Residents only, darling — these pools don’t do one-night stands with non-residents. You’ve got to live here to get wet here.

👙 Dress code is strict: bathing suits only. No gym shorts. No tank tops. No pretending.

💸 Daily entrance without a pool plan is just $5 a dip. Kiddos 3 and under get in free, and under-16s must roll in with an adult (18+ — not your friend who just looks older, nice try).

🎟️ Tanner and Venetian require a Beach Permit to even park your ride — no free rides unless you’re walking in (and that still gets you wet).

🚿 Geiger Spray Park plays it looser: open to the public, but if you’re not a Babylon resident, prepare to pay. Here’s how it breaks down:

• Babylon Residents: $5 daily (or get in free with a pool plan — who doesn’t love commitment?)
• Non-Residents (18+): $20 a pop — and yes, we’re talking about dollars. Keep it clean.

Babylon’s two marina hot spots — Cedar Beach and Gilgo Beach — are where you pull in, tie up, and let the sea do what it does best: get you loose and sun-drunk before noon.

• Cedar Beach Marina & Campground – Bay-side hookups, both literal and electrical.
• Gilgo Beach Marina – Ocean access and enough breeze to make you feel like you’re in a romance novel.

💳 These are residents-only playgrounds — if your ID doesn’t say Babylon, you’ll have to seduce someone who’s got access.

🏕️ Cedar Campground – For When One Night Just Isn’t Enough

• 41 campsites with electric + water — because roughing it doesn’t mean you can’t charge your phone (or your… other devices).
• Restrooms, showers, picnic tables, playground, fishing pier, horseshoe pit, pump-out station, and free Wi-Fi — so you can post about it after.
• $30 per night, credit/debit only, and you can book for a week at a time (Friday–Friday… that’s a full commitment, baby).

🚤 Cedar Beach Marina – Float In, Tie Up and Chill

• 63 slips on the main dock (with electric) + 36 floating dock slips
• Same sexy amenities as the campground — plus grills and a fishing pier for hands-on fun
• Main Dock: $33/day (14’+), $30/day (under 14′)
• Floating Dock: Weekends/Holidays: $18/day ($10 for seniors), Weekdays: $12/day ($7 for seniors)
• 3-night minimum (Friday to Monday) — because nobody likes a quickie when they planned for the long haul

🌊 Gilgo Beach Marina – No Electric, All Spark

• 57 slips on the main dock, 36 on the float — and not a single outlet to kill the mood

This one’s your golden ticket: launch all summer from Tanner Park and Venetian Shores, plus docking access at Cedar and Gilgo (you’ll still need to pay daily docking fees — foreplay isn’t free).

• $25 for seniors (60+)
• Bring ID, utility/tax bill, and your boat registration — all names must match, just like a good date

Because some like it small and fast — jet skis have their own special permit: $25 per ski, good for launching at both Tanner and Venetian. And yes, size matters… when it comes to horsepower.

🌊 No matter how you like to ride — solo, tandem, or with a little extra throttle — these ramps are open and ready to help you get off… the dock, of course.

• $30 per night – no strings attached (unless you’re pitching a tent… then lots of strings)

🛶 Kayaking Routes — Glide Smooth, Stay Wet

Six mapped routes across the Great South Bay — for beginners, pros, and those who just want to paddle around with someone special.

⛵ Sailing Lessons — Learn to Ride the Wind (and Maybe a Hobie Cat Too)

Offered at Tanner Park Marina — for novices, adventurers, and sunset lovers with a strong grip on the tiller.

• Novice Sailor: Ages 11+, $60 resident / $80 non-resident. Learn basics and water safety (yes, there’s a swim test — no faking it).
• Sunset Sail: Ages 18+, $50 resident / $60 non-resident. Bring a date or bring wine. Either way, prepare to let go of control.
• Women’s Sail: Saturdays for ladies 18+, $60 resident / $80 non-resident. Hobie Wave catamarans, confidence, and a healthy breeze between the knees.

🏊 Junior Lifeguard Ocean Rescue — Teach ‘Em Young

For kids 8–16 who want to dive deep into water safety — and maybe show off a little at Overlook Beach. Includes a pre-test, because we don’t just let anybody handle the deep end.

For ages 15+, this American Red Cross course teaches you how to save lives, make rescues, and confidently blow that whistle.
