🐾 About Jonesy
Meet Jonesy — a sleek, black beauty with wide yellow eyes and a heart that’s been through a lot. This 2–4-year-old male cat was rescued as part of a large group of cats seized during a Sheriff’s eviction. Jonesy arrived at the Babylon Animal Shelter on December 10, 2024, scared and unsure of the people around him.
Now, after receiving the medical care and stability he needed, Jonesy is ready for a home — but it has to be the right one. He is FeLV/FIV negative, altered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He’s also received parasite prevention and is in good health.
What he truly needs is an experienced and patient adopter. Someone who understands that trust takes time. Someone who sees Jonesy for what he is — a quiet soul who deserves peace and safety. Whether you want to gently work with him or give him space to live independently in a low-stress home, Jonesy is ready to meet you.

🏠 How to Adopt Jonesy
You do not need to be a Town of Babylon resident to adopt a pet. Anyone over 18 can visit during adoption hours and meet Jonesy or any of the other wonderful animals available for adoption.
Adoption Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before closing to allow enough time to meet the staff and pets.
Included with Every Adoption:
- Spay/Neuter (all pets except guinea pigs)
- Age-appropriate vaccinations
- Heartworm test (dogs), FeLV/FIV test (cats)
- Parasite prevention
- Microchip & registration
- Veterinary exam
💵 Adoption Fees (Cash Only)
- Cats/Kittens: $65
- Seniors (60+): $35
📋 The Adoption Process
- Speak with an adoption staff member by phone or in person about Jonesy’s personality and history.
- Complete an adoption application and bring a photo ID.
- Visit again with all household members prior to adoption day.
- Jonesy may require multiple visits depending on your match.
Note: Applications for cats are accepted only once they are cleared for adoption.
