Local Events Around the Town of Babylon, NY this week ~ July 27–31, 2026

The forecast says 86°. The calendar says grab your flip-flops anyway.

It’s the hottest stretch of the summer so far, Babylon — highs march from the low 80s on Monday straight up to a sticky 86° by Friday, with humid nights that never quite cool off. But here’s the thing about a heat wave in a beach town: it’s basically an invitation. Get in the water, chase the shade, and save your energy for after sundown.

That’s exactly what this week delivers. We’ve got beachfront yoga under a full moon, TWO free concerts at Tanner Park (Billy Joel and Zac Brown tributes), an open-air Mamma Mia! singalong, throwback dance parties at Salt Shack every single night, and a stacked Friday finale that includes swimming a bay. Twenty events, five days, one goal: beat the heat.

Hydrate, slap on the sunscreen, and let’s find your cool spot. 🌊

🌡️ This Week’s Weather

  • Monday 7/27: 83° & sunny — warm and open, a perfect movie-under-the-stars night.
  • Tuesday 7/28: 84° & clear — beach-yoga weather if the ocean breeze cooperates.
  • Wednesday 7/29: 82° & bright — the “coolest” day of the week (relatively!). Concert night.
  • Thursday 7/30: 84° & humid — hydrate; the AC-and-live-music combo is your friend.
  • Friday 7/31: 86° & hot — peak heat. Get in the water early, dance it off late.

No rain in the forecast — just heat. Every outdoor event is a go; the trick is timing (early or after dark) and staying hydrated.

📋 The Rundown

This week’s lineup spreads across West Babylon, Copiague, Farmingdale, Babylon Village, Fire Island and the beaches, touching just about every category we love: Live Music & Tributes, Free Town Concerts, Movie Nights, Food & Drink, Health & Wellness, Family Fun, and a marquee Community swim. Salt Shack turns into a nightly throwback party, Tanner Park hosts two big free concerts (Billy Joel and Zac Brown tributes), and Friday alone stacks ten events — a swim, festivals, live bands, a bay cruise, and a kids’ night. Whether you want to sweat on purpose or cool off completely, there’s a spot for you.

🎸 Zac Brown Tribute Band — Friday, Tanner Park (FREE)

Tanner Park closes out its summer concert season with a bang: the Zac Brown Tribute Band plays every hit a country fan knows and loves, Friday at 7 PM — free and celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary. Same lawn, same cooler, same singalong energy as the Billy Joel night, two days later. Pack a blanket and let the evening breeze do the cooling while ZBTB does the rest.

🧘 Full Moon Yoga & Meditation with Jackie — Tuesday, Robert Moses Beach

Toes in the sand, waves as your soundtrack, and a full moon rising over the Atlantic — this is the coolest 60 minutes on the calendar in every sense. Jackie leads an all-levels flow and meditation right on Field 5 East at Robert Moses Beach from 7–8 PM ($25/session). Bring a mat, a towel, and let the ocean breeze do what your AC can’t. There’s no better “beat the heat” reset all week.

🎹 The Lords of 52nd Street — Wednesday, Tanner Park

The actual musicians behind Billy Joel’s biggest records bring the Summer Concert Series to Tanner Park Wednesday at 7 PM — and it’s free. Pack a blanket and a cooler, grab a shady patch on the lawn, and sing every word to “Big Shot” and “My Life” as the sun goes down. This is the marquee free night of the week and a Babylon summer tradition you don’t want to miss.

🏊 The 2026 Cross Bay Swim — Friday, Fire Island Lighthouse

Nothing beats the heat like swimming across an entire bay. Friday morning, swimmers set off near the Fire Island Lighthouse at 7 AM for this beloved Great South Bay tradition. Whether you’re in the water or cheering from the shoreline with a coffee, it’s the ultimate cool-down and the perfect way to launch the last weekend of July. 🌊

Waterfront breeze by day, ABBA singalong by night — a gentle, breezy start to a hot week.

  • 🎡 Salt Shack Family Fun Night — 4:00–8:00 PM, Salt Shack NY (Free) — Waterfront games, food, and family fun with a cooling bay breeze.
  • 🎬 Mamma Mia! — 8:25–10:55 PM, Tanner Park Bandshell (Free) — A movie under the stars once the heat of the day finally breaks. Bring chairs and blankets.

Thursday cranks up the fun with a triple play. Time-travel to the The Max – Ultimate 90’s Party at Salt Shack, catch Playin’ English back at The Warehouse, or savor a Summer BBQ & Bourbon Dinner in Farmingdale. Live music with a cold drink is a very respectable way to beat the heat.

🌊 Friday, July 31
